Reno Omokri, a key member of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council has accused Kano Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of bribing and an official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the 2015 general elections.

Omokri's accusation comes off the back of the emergence of a viral video by one Michael Achimugu, a whistleblower who alleged that the former vice president deployed Special Purpose Vehicles to embezzle money when he was in office between 1999 and 2007.

In the audio recording, Atiku confessed to how he advised the then President Olusegun Obasanjo to name three individuals – Oyewole Fasawe, Andy Uba and a politician from Borno State (now late) as directors or subscribers of the company he was then trying to set up.

But in reaction to what is now termed "Atikugate", Reno has also accused Ganduje of buying an INEC official a house and gifting him 200 million naira.

He said: "There is a phone call capturing the voice of a man sounding like Governor Ganduje discussing with the INEC kano REC about buying him a house and gifting him 200 million nairas. Given the role the Kano REC played in the 2015 election leading to his death, the DSS may want to investigate this! I am sure they can access the tape, which is already being closely circulated in their circles"
