Amid heavy criticism and attacks targeted at Arise Television journalist, Rufai Oseni, a leading member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu has thrown his support behind him.

Oseni, a co-host of The Morning Show clashed with a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Jesutega Onokpasa on Monday, October 30.

During the interview, Oseni disagreed with the chieftain’s view concerning the fuel subsidy removal.

While Oseni was still talking, Onokpasa tried to interrupt him, but the interviewer insisted on finishing his question.

Oseni has since come under intense criticism from loyalists of the ruling All Progressives Party.

In his defense, however, Dele Momodu hailed the TV anchor for his "intellectual prowess".

He wrote on Instagram: "I have read a lot of articles, essays, comments and commentaries about Rufai Oseni's style of interviewing guests on ARISE NEWS TELEVISION... The majority of them have been quite venomous and downright acerbic... Does he deserve to be criticized? Why not? All of us who criticize others should expect people to get angry every now and then, but I don't expect them to get so abusive. Anyway."

"I'm a big fan of @rufaioseni, warts and all. And the reason is simple. It is about his intellectual prowess. He is sound and confident. His style is unique to him and it fascinates or irritates his critics and admirers differently. I'm writing this to encourage him. He should remain brilliant and focused. GOD bless him mightily..."
