The Rivers campaign office of Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s presidential candidate, has been sealed.

A report by TheCable has it that Atiku's campaign office located in Port Harcourt was sealed by the state government on Friday, December 23.

It was gathered that the directive of the state government is backed by a court order, which, according to Governor Nyesom Wike's media aide, Kelvin Ebiri prohibits campaign offices in residential areas.

Ebiri was quoted to have said: “The Rivers state government approached a court which ordered that the place should be sealed up.

“The Rivers state executive order 22 prohibits the location of a political campaign office in a residential area. It was the court that ordered the place to be sealed up.”

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has promised to announce his preferred presidential candidate for the 2023 election in January.

The governor disclosed this on Thursday, December 22, adding that he will move from state to state to campaign for his adopted candidate next year.

The governor said: “From January next year, I will campaign to my people whom they will vote for.”

The Rivers governor said this while commissioning the 10th flyover that his administration has started and completed in the Obio-Akpor local government area of the state.

He then said those who have been in suspense, saying all kinds of things about him should wait for him till January. Wike said he will not only tell his preferred presidential candidate to Nigerians but he will embark on a nationwide campaign for him.
