Reactions as Obasanjo's Education Minister struggles to defend his corruption record in viral video

Nigerians have been reacting to an old video of former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili attempting to defend the corruption record of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The co-founder of the #BringBackOurGirls movement failed to respond to the question when she was asked how corrupt President Obasanjo was when he served as president from 1999 to 2007 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ezekwesili was speaking at an interview on Aljazeera.

Meanwhile, said women are more inclined towards the presidency of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Ezekwesili stated this in an interview on Channels Television’s Hard Copy programme on Sunday.

According to her, the women and youthful segment of the country’s population are moving towards a direction of change in Nigeria.

Ezekwesili, who noted that women make up about 51 per cent of the voting population, said Obi’s prospect cannot be dismissed taking into the perspective various zones of the country and the appetite they have for an inclusive approach to governance.
