Rangers missing Aribo’s creativity

Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo’s impact at the Ibrox, home to Glasglow Rangers, is still being missed by both fans and personnel alike, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The international break couldn’t have arrived at a better time for the Scottish side, who have just one victory in their last four matches, and need to solve the Aribo problem fast.

There is an obvious lack of excitement in the team with the creative spark missing from the Ibrox side, a player who can change the game by his sole determination and create opportunities from nowhere.

According to msn.com, Sporting Director, Ross Wilson, and the Rangers board are under increasing pressure from the supporters following a poor end to the transfer window. Had he made a different decision on Aribo last season, the club might have been able to avoid this challenge.

Aribo was always on the exit path from the Scottish side due to the impact he made in the domestic and continental campaigns, with a host of Premier League teams linked with the 26-year-old as the 2021/22 season ended and Southampton were ultimately his chosen destination.

With Aribo’s contract due to expire at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, Saints submitted an offer of £10m to snatch the midfielder from Ibrox, and manager Giovanni Van Bronckhorst has missed his ability to link the midfield with the attack.
