Protest rocks Lagos over scarcity of new Naira notes

A protest has rocked the city of Lagos as residents have taken to the streets to appeal lament the scarcity of the new Naira notes.

The civil society group gathered on streets protesting are spotted in white shirts and face cap with placards and banners.

In a video making rounds, the group were heard singing and appealing to the Central Bank of Nigeria to provide sufficient new naira notes to halt the chaos in acquiring the currency.

As the deadline for the swapping of the old notes to the new naira noted draws near, there have been some incidents of fighting and stripping of clothes at the banks, ATMs.
