Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has revealed that he will invite the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to commission some completed projects projects in the state before his tenure in office expires.

The controversial governor who has been a loggerhead with the leadership of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made the revelation in an interview with some selected journalists at the State House in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, March 22.

"Every day I am campaigning and flagging off projects and you think the people are not seeing? Yesterday, I was on inspection, I am inviting the president-elect to come and commission."

"I have a right too because I invited Obi and Kwankwaso here to commission projects. It is better I invited the president-elect because those I invited, what did I get from it? So If I am inviting him now and I get something from it, what is the problem with that?"

Wike's action isn't new as he has in the past invited the presidential candidates of the leading parties to the state to commission various projects.

In November last year, he invited Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, to commission one of the projects executed by his administration in the state.

In the same month, he received the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso to inaugurate the Mgbutanwo Internal Roads in the Emohua Local Government Area on Monday.

The governor had in August last year invited the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a member of APC, to commission a flyover project, at the popular Waterlines junction on Aba road.
