President Buhari expresses sadness over death of ex-IGP Gambo Jimeta

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the death of a former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Muhammadu Gambo Jimeta.

Gambo Jimeta reportedly died on Thursday evening, January 21, at the age of 83.

A spokesperson for the president, Garba Shehu, in a statement disclosed that said Buhari has conveyed his condolences to the family of the late police boss.

The president in the statement described Jimeta as a good police detective and a man of great courage.

He stated that the late ex-IGP was an intellect who served the nation with all his strength.

Buhari described Jimeta’s death as a loss to the nation.

He prayed for God to grant the soul of the departed rest

The president said: “May Allah bless his soul and give fortitude to the bereaved family, the government and people of Adamawa State to bear this irreparable loss."
