Veteran Nigerian rapper William Orioha, popularly known as 2Shotz, has shared a blunt perspective on financial independence, warning that poverty often invites ridicule even from those closest to home.
Speaking in a video shared on his official Instagram page, the former music star emphasised that financial stability is essential for personal dignity and freedom of choice, clarifying that true wealth is not solely defined by having millions in a bank account.
According to 2Shotz, securing enough resources to handle basic daily needs helps individuals avoid unnecessary disrespect and social vulnerability.
"Do your best to have money. The worst thing that can happen to you is for you not to have. Poverty is not good. The person who said money isn’t good isn’t well," 2Shotz stated.
The rapper noted that financial hustle grants individuals the autonomy to make independent life decisions without relying on others.
"Hustle so you can make it. When you have money, it gives you the benefit of choice. And I am not talking about having millions in your account. Just have enough to be able to have at least two square meals... Having money reduces 'see finish'," he added.
Addressing the social dynamics of financial failure, 2Shotz issued a sobering warning regarding how people in distress are treated by their immediate circle.
"If you don’t have, the first people who will laugh at you will be your family members, and it will be extended to your friends," he cautioned.
