Police reunite three abandoned children with their family

The Yobe state police have reunited three children who were rescued in Damaturu with their parents.

According to the police spokesperson, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, the children claimed they were abandoned by their parents after handing them transport fare with directions to an unknown place.

When interrogated, the parents denied the allegations, instead claimed the children were abducted and abandoned at Mafa Local Government Council of Borno State.

The police however warned the parents after reuniting them to be mindful as the authorities will monitor them closely.

“These children were said to have been abandoned by their parents after giving them transport fare to an unknown destination.

“The children were found by our personnel along Maiduguri road trekking for a long-distance." he said.
