The Police Command in Lagos has arrested more suspects in connection with the murder of the late CEO of SuperTV, Usifo Ataga, Lagos Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu has said.

He made the disclosure at a media briefing and parade of over 1,000 suspects at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja.

Odumosu said the case is progressing despite not giving more details on the number of suspects arrested and their connection to the crime.

He stated that the 21-year-old level 100 University of Lagos student, Chidinma Ojokwu remains a prime suspect. He also dismissed reports that the reports the police were attempting to give her a soft landing.

Odumosu said: “We have established a case of conspiracy in the murder and we have arrested more suspects.”

Ataga, 50, was killed on June 15 at a shortlist apartment where he was spending weekend with his lover, Ojokwu.

Ojokwu, who earlier confessed to have stabbed the deceased to death before stealing his belongings, later refuted her statement claiming she returned from an errand to find him lying in a pool of his blood, reports The Nations.
