Police officers gobsmacked after encountering a 'deaf, dumb' driver and passenger

Some Police officers in the South West part of Nigeria have been spotted in a video struggling to communicate with two “deaf and dumb” men upon stopping them for questioning.

In the video making rounds, the police officers who had stopped a car with a driver and a passenger who began to gesture with their hands, alerting the police officers that they were “deaf and dumb”.

The officers in response also tried to use their hands in communicating with the dumb men that they should show their license.

One of the police officers said to the dumb men; "You can't hear?" What if I press the horn?" the officer asked.

The men continued to gesticulate. After looking through the license, the officers proceeded to ask the men for money.

However, the men signed back that they did not have any money. The police officers then allowed them to leave.

The two “deaf and dumb” men were soon stopped by another police officer who asked for a bribe after they indicated that they were deaf and dumb.

It is not clear if the men are really deaf and dumb or not. However, some Nigerians who came across the video took to social media to share their thoughts.
