Police narrates how 10-year-old boy killed friend during football match

A 10-year-old boy has been arrested for killing his friend in Ejigbo, a suburb of Lagos State.

The suspect identified as Ezekiel Egbota is alleged to have strangled his victim, Israel Ogunleye to death at 5 pm on Friday, March 29.

Reports indicate both friends disagreed while playing football in the Powerline area of Ejigbo.

The incident was confirmed by Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin who noted that the suspect held the deceased on the neck and strangulated him during the argument.

He said; “The boys were playing football on Oluwole Street not far from the victim’s mother’s shop.

“Suddenly there was an argument with Ezekiel Evbota. During the argument, the suspect held the deceased on the neck and strangulated him.

“The corpse has been deposited at the General Hospital, Isolo.”
