Police foils attempted kidnap of Chinese national in Taraba

The Police Command in Taraba has disclosed that it prevented a planned kidnap attempt by some unknown gunmen on a Chinese national in the Gindin Dorowa area of Wukari Local Government Area.

This was made known to the press by the command's Public Relations Officer, DSP David Misal, in a statement on Tuesday.

According to Mr. Misal, one of the suspects was killed in a gun battle with the police while the other escaped with some injuries.

“The command successfully killed one of the kidnappers terrorizing Wukari Jalingo road and recovered one AK47 with two magazines loaded with 60 rounds of ammunition."

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Wukari-Jalingo highway has become a death trap for travelers.

NAN also reports that Mr Danlami Shamaki, the Proprietor of Winners Comprehensive Secondary School, Jalingo, was killed on the road in a suspected failed kidnap attempt.
