Operatives from the Ewekoro Division of the Ogun State Police Command interrupted a robbery at a student hostel in the Eruku/Agbon area, arresting two suspects and recovering stolen items including eleven smartphones and a laptop.

The incident took place around 2:40 a.m. on September 13, 2026, after an anonymous tip alerted authorities about an armed gang terrorising students in their hostel.

Responding swiftly, officers led by the Divisional Police Officer arrived at the scene and spotted the suspects trying to escape after abandoning their loot—a school bag containing eleven phones, a laptop, and clothing. The suspects, Waris Dauda and Tiamiyu Abiodun, were quickly apprehended.

Victims identified their confiscated property, and investigations revealed that during the robbery, one victim was coerced into transferring ₦200,000 to a bank account.

Police examined the crime scene, documented the break-in, and secured the items. Searches at the suspects' homes found no additional evidence, but both suspects and the recovered goods have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further investigation.

Authorities continue efforts to locate the remaining gang members and the owner of the account used in the crime.
