Chaos broke out in Nassarawa as varsity students hit the streets to protest the incessant kidnapping of members of the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) and students of the institution.

Report indicates that there have been several incidents of kidnapping happening in the institution.

As a result the students embarked on a protest to alert the government, Vice Chancellor and management of the university to take hold of their responsibilities and ensure the safety of the people.

Recall that in October, some lecturers and students of the institution were kidnapped recently by unknown persons and later released.

This led the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to protest to register their displeasure at the incidents.

Weeks after ASUU protest, the varsity students staged another demonstration in a bid to draw the attention of the school authorities.

However, this was met with chaos as police personnel were seen firing tear gas to disperse the protesters.
