The Nigeria Police Force said that a man has been arrested over a viral video circulating on social media alleging an ongoing terrorist attack in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command had earlier said that the viral video is false and misleading.

In a statement, the police said there is no security breach anywhere in the FCT. It said findings show the gunshots were edited and superimposed on unrelated footage.

The CP has ordered a forensic investigation to identify and apprehend those behind this deliberate attempt to incite panic.

"We urge the public to ignore and stop sharing such content," the command said.

After the investigation, the police announced the arrest of one Pam Joseph for spreading false information.
