Police arrest father for defiling 14-year-old daughter

The police have arrested a 45-year-old father for defiling his 14-year-old daughter in the Ibeshe area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The suspect was arrested on June 7 at the Ipakodo Police Station, after his daughter reported her ordeal to the police.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, condemned the act and ordered that the case be transferred to the Gender Unit of the Command for further investigation.

Similarly, the Police Operatives attached to Morogbo Division of Lagos State on Sunday, 13th June 2021, at about 10 am, arrested some boys suspected to be cultists.

According to the CP, the arrest was made following a  tip-off from the management of House 2 Hotel, Igbekele Morogbo, Lagos State, that some boys suspected to be cultists were holding a meeting in the hotel.

The suspects who are seven in number include Hameed Salami, m, 35, Ogunlade Adewale, m, 30, Sunday Ogbemudia, m, 36, Okekunle Segun, m, 26, Imole Kingsley, m, 23, Rasak Lekan, m, 26, and Osuya Innocent, m, 23.

Items recovered from them include one locally made pistol, two live cartridges, one axe, assorted charms.

CP Odumosu has ordered that the case be transferred to the Command’s Special Squad, Ikeja, for discreet investigation.

He however reiterated the command’s commitment to continually tackle cultism and all sorts of crimes and criminality in Lagos State as all hands are on deck to improve the already established security architecture of the state.
