Former Senator Shehu Sani has pleaded with Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, not to listen to the old folks and reverse his decision not to invest in Nigeria’s steel industry.
Recall that Dangote, in a press briefing, announced his plan not to continue with his investment in the steel sector in Nigeria.
His decision comes following his battle with Nigeria’s oil regulator, after the Chief Executive Officer of the NMDPRA, Farouk Ahmed, accused him of trying to monopolise the oil market despite his oil products being inferior.
In response to the allegations, Dangote offered to sell his share of the Dangote refinery to the NNPCL as he no longer wants to be a part of the oil industry, while debunking the claim.
Reacting to the development, the lawmaker urged Dangote not to be swayed by the actions of the government and emphasised that his investment in the steel industry would create thousands of jobs for young Nigerians.
He wrote;
“Dear Dangote, I know you are angry, but please rescind your decision not to invest in Nigeria’s steel industry. Your investment will create thousands of jobs for our young people and help in the industrialization of the country. Don’t mind those old folks. Thank you,” Sani wrote on X on Monday.
