Two months after an 18-year-old girl, Nofisat Titilope, disappeared from Lagos State, she has been found and reunited with her family.

Nofisat had on June 2 disappeared from the Ikorodu area of the state when she left her coaching centre to visit her male friend, identified simply as Opeyemi.

Punch Metro had reported that Opeyemi met the victim on her way to the coaching centre and allegedly prophesied concerning her and later became her friend.

The victim’s step-father, Samsudeen Longe, had told our correspondent that Nofisat and her mother relocated to Lagos from Oyo State sometime in April after he got married to the latter, adding that the day the victim went missing, she called Opeyemi on the phone before leaving the coaching centre.

However, all efforts to get Opeyemi arrested proved abortive as Longe alleged that policemen at the Ijede Police Station were shielding him from the personnel of the Igbogbo Police Station, where he reported the matter.

However, the joy of the family knew no bounds as Nofisat was reunited with her mother last Tuesday.

Longe told our correspondent that she was found roaming the streets of Ibadan by people who had read PUNCH Metro’s report and took her to the mother in Saki. LASG trains physically challenged for self-reliance.

He said, “I’m very grateful for what PUNCH Metro has done for me and we give thanks to God. With a lot of prayers, the girl has been found roaming the streets of Ibadan and she was apprehended by those who saw her and taken to Saki, where she was reunited with her mother.

“Her mum had been seriously ill because of her disappearance and she is just trying to get over the trauma of what she has gone through; I hope that gradually, she will get back. I feel relieved that Nofisat was found; I thank God and you as well for publishing her story. You have done well for the family.

“The situation has affected the relationship between her mum and me and I will not want to go over what I went through again, because it gave me high blood pressure, which I am just trying to control now.”
