Photos of politicians rocking Tinubu's broken shackles hat

The symbol on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's hats has been revealed to mean broken shackles.

Tinubu who has always been known for his signature hat since his tenure as Governor of Lagos state, continue to influence others.

In an interview with Guardian years ago, Tinubu revealed that the meaning of the symbol embroidered on his hat means broken shackles which was derived from his belief in freedom fighting.

He said; “My belief in freedom fighting is reflected in the broken shackle on my cap, which symbolizes liberty. It indicates you can’t enslave us any longer because the shackle is broken. It means you’ve broken free from the shackles of slavery, poverty, disease, and ignorance. My philosophy is to help individuals break free from their chains and improve the quality of their life.”

“Freedom House is also the emblem on my office door, because freedom means everything to me. I love human liberty and am willing to fight for it. You can find me battling injustice on the streets.”

However, in a bid to show support to the President, some politicians under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress, have been spotted rocking this symbol on their hats.

Some include, Vice President Kashim Shettima, former governor of Kaduna state Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of Ogun state Dapo Abiodun, Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Umana Umana among others.
