Photos: Political parties defy INEC orders, clash heavy in Ondo

Some supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) were engaged in a violent clash in the Yaba Area of Ondo town, Ondo State on Thursday evening, August 20.

This closed comes ahead of the governorship election scheduled for September 19.

According to the reports, several party faithful were injured in the clash while cars were destroyed. The report, however, did not say if they was any deaths.

This clash has come as a surprise to everyone as INEC over the past weeks has encouraged political parties to shun violence ahead of the upcoming polls.

According to reports, the cause of the incident in Ondo is yet to be ascertained.

The police say normalcy has been restored to the area and efforts are being made to arrest those behind the violent attacks.
