Photo of APC Governor lying flat to greet Afe Babalola stuns many

Ekiti state Governor, Biodun Oyebanji was recently spotted lying flat on the floor in an attempt to greet an elder statesman, Afe Babalola.

It is known that in the Yoruba culture when greeting an elderly person, you prostrate. This shows a sign of respect.

Afe Babalola who is popularly known as the founder of Afe Babalola University in Ekiti is also an octogenarian, veteran lawyer, educationist and columnist.

He is said to celebrate his 60 years of been call to bar on Monday, July 10.

The photos making rounds showed the Ekiti state governor who arrived at the event, walked up to Chief Afe Babalola and prostrated before him.

Afe Babalola went on to bless him by placing his hand on his head.

Oyebanji's humility stunned many Nigerians who took to social media to share their thoughts.

Sharing the photos, journalist, Arabinrin Aderonke, said:

"I am from Ekiti State, and here is my governor, a man I call BAO, greeting, Afe Babalola SAN, another Ekiti man and elder statesman, in the Yoruba way, as it should be. We are wired and trained to always greet & accord our superior with the utmost respect. Proud of you, Governor BAO."
