Peter Obi would have visited Mohbad's family if he died before election - Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, the former presidential aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has questioned why Peter Obi had not visited the family of late singer, Mohbad.

In a post shared on his Instagram page on Monday, September 18, Omokri claimed that if Mohbad had died before the 2023 presidential election, Obi would have paid the singer's family a visit.

He wrote; “Sadly, the truth is that if this were before the election, Peter Obi would have visited Mohbad's family by now. He would have posted about it. He may even have shed some crocodile tears, and perhaps donated some money. But the election is over. And Mohbad is not from a certain part of Nigeria. He is not a member of the Labour Party or an Obidient. So, there is no need for Peter Obi to even pretend that he cares!"

Less than 24 hours later the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party took to X, to console the late singer's family.

Obi wrote; "On behalf of my family, I condole with the mother and entire family of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, Mohbad, over his painful demise. I know how difficult it is for parents to lose a child, especially one with such a promising future as his.

"I urge the government and the security agencies to probe the circumstances that led to his untimely demise and to leave no stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances surrounding his death. With his demise, the nation has lost a promising talent in our growing music and entertainment industry. I pray God to grant him eternal rest, and grant his parents, family, and teeming fans the fortitude to bear his irreplaceable loss."

Omokri, however, applauded Sanwo-Olu for ensuring Mohbad gets justice.

He wrote; “No matter what you say about Governor Sanwo-Olu, at least he is working with the Lagos State Police Command to get justice for MohBad. His office and staff are facilitating the investigation.”

Recall that Mohbad died on Tuesday, September 12 under a strange circumstances.

It is unknown what may have led to the death of the singer. As a result several fans and well wishers have called for an investigations to unravel what caused the mysterious death of the singer.
