A 2024 social media post by the spokesperson of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Theo Abu Agada, alleges that NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi started vote-buying in Nigeria.
This came after an X user, @Jack_ng01, boasted that an old woman in Anambra State rejected an offer of money from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He wrote, "In Anambra, old woman did reject 10k offered to them by APC the last time. Not a shade to anyone, but at some point you have to choose your own freedom at all costs. Come 2025, Anambra people will decide our Gov yet again like we have done for over 20years now."
Reacting, Theo Agada revealed how Obi engaged in vote-buying when he wanted to install his successor as Governor of Anambra State.
He wrote, "Oga shut up abeg. Peter Obi started vote-buying in Nigeria when he wanted to install a successor. I have the report from an international election observer. Don’t provoke me."
Theo Agada and Obi are now in the same political party.
