Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's aide, Wale Ajetunmobi, has slammed the candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, for attending the campaign inauguration of fellow presidential candidate Seyi Makinde in Abuja.
MyNigeria reported that Obi attended the event on Monday and was allowed to address the crowd that gathered to support Makinde, who is the current governor of Oyo State.
His presence at the event was seen as a sign that his NDC party may be going through crisis, and a move to Makinde's All Peoples Movement could be imminent.
Abdul Rasheeth, an aide to former vice president and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Atiku Abubakar, described the situation to mean that Obi is not having it easy under the NDC leadership, led by Senator Seriake Dickson.
On his part, Sanwo-Olu's aide described Obi's move as dumb.
He shared on X, "There is no sign that this dumb man will find redemption anytime soon. You are attending the campaign of your ‘opponent’ to make him look better than you but indirectly telling voters that you are stupid, politically. The only reason he did this today is because he is truly dumb. A useless jester for that matter."
