Former Senator Daniel Bwala has shared his perspective on the political future of Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate in the 2023 elections.
Bwala suggests that Obi's viable opportunity to ascend to Nigeria's presidency will come in 2039.
By that time, Obi will be 79 years old, and according to Bwala, his campaign narrative will shift from a focus on youth to one of capability and experience.
Bwala, who previously served as the spokesperson for the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign, believes that the current president, Bola Tinubu, will likely serve two terms, after which the presidency will rotate to the north for another eight years.
In a statement released on his social media platform on May 20, 2024, Bwala elaborated on his predictions, stating, “@PeterObi only stands the chance to be Nigeria’s president from 2039 when he will clock 79, or above 79 years. By then his message would no longer be “vote me because I am the younger of the candidates” but it will be “vote me because age doesn’t matter but capacity”
He further commented on the political dynamics, saying, “The reason is @officialABAT will finish his two terms, then power would come to the north for another 8 years, before it goes to the south. The e-rodents who keep shouting “we are the youth” by then would be saying “we are the elders”. Blessed week ahead.”
