Peter Obi's legal team is an embarrassment - Reno Omokri knocks witnesses

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has raised concerns over the witnesses the Labour Party and Peter Obi are presenting at the presidential election petition tribunal.

During the June 15 proceeding, the Labour Party (LP) and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, presented Eric Ofuegbu, a professor of Mathematics at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, as their 4th witness.

The petitioners challenging the outcome of the 2023 election that produced President Bola Tinubu as the winner in the February 25 presidential election, also presented the ARISE News Director of Operations, Lummie Edevbie, as a subpoenaed witness and 5th overall witness for the petitioners.

However, Reno Omokri expressed his disappointment at the witnesses being brought forth, he described the legal team of the Labour Party and Peter Obi as an embarrassment.

In a tweet, the former aide said that the mathematics professor blamed his inability to prove that Peter Obi won the #NigerianElections2023 due to lack of time and Lawrence Nwakaeti, got confused in court.

Omokri in his post claimed the petition court proceedings does not look good for the petitioners.

His tweet read;

"Peter Obi's legal team and their witnesses at the Presidential Election Petition Court are simply an embarrassment. This was a man who was boasting that he had all his evidence and witnesses. And look at the type of witnesses they are producing. A mathematics professor who blamed his inability to prove that Peter Obi won the #NigerianElections2023 on lack of time. Another, Lawrence Nwakaeti, got confused in court. Lawyers who make schoolboy errors by blundering their schedule of documents and then asking for more time. This is not looking good for Peter Obi. Not looking good at all!"
