Peter Obi reacts to assassination attempt on Senator Ubah

The Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has tecated to the Sunday night assassination attempt on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

In a tweet on his official Twitter handle, Obi maintained that the attack was condemnable and unnaceptable.

While commiserating with Senator Ubah, Obi urged the security agencies to bring the perpetrators to book.

He also re-emphasised the urgent need for enhanced security of lives and property in the society.

On Sunday, the motorcade of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah was attacked and in the aftermath of the attack, it was revealed that 10 persons lost their lives including personal aides of the senator and security personnel attached to him.

It was also gathered that Senator Ubah managed to escape because he was riding in an armoured plated SUV.

"I deeply commiserate with my brother, Senator @Dr_IfeanyiUbah, and extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in this ugly incidence.

"The attack is condemnable and unacceptable. I hereby re-emphasise the urgent need for enhanced security of lives and property in society. I have continued to lay emphasis on the urgent need for enhanced security and protection of life and property in our society.

"Those who engage in these dastardly acts should be fished out swiftly using all machinery available to government, and promptly punished in accordance with our laws.

"I enjoin the Federal and State governments to strenuously strive to to curb the menace of insecurity rampaging our Nation. -PO."
