Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, says the Super Eagles of Nigeria fought a good battle following their loss to Morocco in the AFCON semi-final.
In a post on his verified X handle early Thursday, Obi said the Eagles never stopped soaring.
Recall that the Nigeria’s side lost the semi-final to 4-2 to Morocco on penalties on Wednesday night.
The former Anambra state governor appreciated the Eagles for what he called a beautiful 120 minutes of incredible play, adding that they showed their strength and prowess against all odds.
According to him, the journey is not over, stressing that the Eagles made the nation proud.
“Dearest gallant Super Eagles, it was a battle well fought and heads were not bowed.
“Keep your heads high. There is another stage, let’s go get that medal. You have done well,” he wrote.
