Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party has received knock after the Supreme Court on Thursday affirmed Bola Tinubu's victory in the February election.

The Supreme Court had dismissed the appeal of Peter Obi and the Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party in a unanimous judgment.

A seven-judge panel ruled as without merit the opposition appeals over claims of fraud, electoral law violations, and Tinubu’s ineligibility to run for president.

“On the whole, having resolved all the issues against the appellant, it is my view that there is no merit in the appeal and it is hereby dismissed,” Justice Inyang Okoro said in dismissing Atiku’s appeal.

“The judgment of the court below delivered on September 6th, 2023 affirming the election of the second respondent as the duly elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is hereby affirmed.”

Reacting to the verdict, Lauretta Onochie, the former chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, mocked Peter Obi's lose.

She wrote;

"PETER OBI’S CASE had been comprehensively dealt with by us before. Consequently, we cannot go through it again. It is devoid of merit. Appeal DISMISSED."

Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide also took to social media to share a video of himself dancing to Peter Obi's lose after the Supreme Court judgment.

captioning the post, he wrote; "Watch Me Dance The Obito Continua. Peter Obi Will NEVER Be President of Nigeria!"
