Peter Obi meets Tinubu? Labour Party candidate finally open up

Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 presidential election, has denied the report that he met with the winner of the election, Bola Tinubu.

According to Sahara Reporters, Obi disclosed in an interview on Channels Television where he revealed what transpired between him and the immigration officers in the United Kingdom, where he was recently detained.

The former governor of Anambra said that the rumour and the accompanied image that was photoshopped on social media are parts of the opposition's efforts.

“I didn’t visit anybody,” the former governor said.

The Labour Party leader expressed commitment to the rule of law and his readiness to ensure that the case before the Presidential election Petition Tribunal comes to a logical conclusion.

According to him, he returned his "unlimited residency permit" to the country's authorities when he wanted to leave after spending many years in the country.

The former governor of Anambra denied being arrested in the United Kingdom and disclosed that he was stopped for a routine check at the immigration office recently in London. He said: “I was stopped for a routine immigration check which didn’t last more than 20 minutes. I was never arrested.”
