The People's Democratic Party's national chairman, Uche Secondus, Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra state, and former Senator, Dino Melaye were sighted leading the party's protest in Abuja against the supreme court's judgment on the Imo governorship election.

The party members alongside many faithfuls took the streets of Abuja in multitudes to protester last Tuesday's Supreme Court judgment that sacked Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of Imo State.

According to The Cable, the march took off from the PDP’s Legacy House in Maitama, Abuja amid tight security with protesters holding placards which read: “Save Judiciary”, “Presidency and Judiciary Murder Democracy” and “We say no to Supreme Court judgement in Imo” among others, as they head for the Supreme Court.

Access may, however, be limited as security officials have reportedly cordoned off the road leading to the supreme court.

The Supreme Court declared Hope Uzodinma, All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the last governorship election, as the duly elected governor of Imo state.

In March 2019, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Ihedioha as the winner of the election, but Uzodinma challenged the decision up to the supreme court.
