Renowned English commentator Peter Drury had the perfect words to sum up the Europa League final game between Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen held at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

Nigerian international Ademola Lookman emerged the hero of the night after he notched an astonishing hat-trick to hand Atalanta their first-ever European title ending the club's 61-year trophy drought.

The 26-year-old opened the scoring early in the 12th minute from a quick tap-in following a cut back from Davide Zappacosta.

Lookman doubled Atlanta's lead in the 26th minute as he nutmegged Granit Xhaka before bending a fantastic shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards.

His third, which came with quarter of an hour left to play was even out of this world. The Super Eagles winger fired a shot into the roof of the net after a quick step over to beat Edmond Tapsoba.

In a video shared on social media, Peter Drury masterfully wove words around Lookman's exceptional performance on the night, delivering poetic commentary that resonated deeply with fans.

After losing the Coppa Italia final to Juventus last week, there was no denying Atalanta this time.

La Dea have automatically secured a Champions League qualification next season despite occupying 6th position in Serie A.
