Parties suspend campaign, celebrities cancel activities to mourn Davido's son, Ifeanyi

On Monday, October 31, singer, Davido and his fiancé, Chioma lost their son, Ifeanyi by drowning.

Following the news circulating on social media, the accident occurred whiles Davido and Chioma were said to be attending a function outside Lagos.

Although the couple and the family are yet to release any statement to the effect, the Nigerian Police confirmed the death of the singer's son.

As the news broke, the entire country seem to have come to a stand still has people took to social media to express their sadness at the tragic incident.

Some Nigerian celebrities took to their various social media pages to mourn the passing of the little boy.

AY Makun, in a post shared on his Instagram page, wrote; “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad.”

Eniola Badmus posted a heartbreak emoji on a black background and wrote, “But why”.

Williams Uchemba, reacting to the sad report, said “I said I won’t believe anything on SM until I personally confirm myself. I prayed for it to be a lie.

I am upset, pained and confused.

Nobody deserves to feel this pain.

Please Say a Prayer for David, Chioma and the entire family. Nobody deserves this kind of pain. Rest up Little one.”

Daddy Freeze who went live on his Instagram page wrote; “When the person you love is someone involved it becomes a heavy emotional burden. I am not confirming anything but bear with me I will not be live tonight.”

Comedian, Lasisi Elenu, who also reacted to the news, wrote;

“Father heal your children’s heart from this pain, strengthen them in such a dark and hurtful time oh Lord.”

Some clubgoers were seen in a video as they paused their fun to mourn singer, Davido’s late son, Ifeanyi.

Grammy award-winning singer, Wizkid, deleted his album-release promotional tweet to show solidarity with Davido on his son's death.

Music producer, Don Jazzy also took to his page to say a prayer for Davido, he wrote; "Lord this is too much to take. Comfort your children."

Olamide joined other industry colleagues to comfort Davido, he wrote; "I wish you divine strength to overcome these dark times, my brother”.

Osun state governor, Oyetola Adegboyega, sympathises with singer Davido over the loss of his son, Ifeanyi.

Orji Kalu cancels all engagements to mourn Davido’s son.

"This is just too Heavy to carry", Nollywood actress Carolyn Danjuma mourns Davido’s son Ifeanyi.

Atiku Abubakar, Presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party, reacting to the death of Ifeanyi, Davido's son, he said; “My thoughts and prayers are with Davido and Chioma and the Adeleke family at this time. I pray for God to strengthen and comfort them”.
