Adewale Adebayo, a former presidential candidate, has taken a swipe at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following the fracas that occurred at the national secretariat on Tuesday, November 18.
The chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) made this known in he appeared in an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday.
According to him, the party was very lawless when they were in power.
His comments follow the clash of rival factions of the PDP. One led by Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on one side. The other faction is led by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
They clashed over control of the party’s headquarters amid the ongoing leadership dispute.
Reacting, Adebayo said, “With respect to the catastrophe that occurred at the PDP headquarters yesterday, no one is surprised.
“When it was in government, it was a very lawless party that was doing all the rigging and manipulation. And now that they are out of government, they are cannibalising each other.
“What I found concerned there is the role played by the police because the police belong to all of us but PDP belongs to its members. I am concerned if the police are being used to be on either sides.”
