PDP emerge victorious in Sokoto House Of Reps rerun

Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Honourable Abubakar Abdullahi Ahmad has defeated the incumbent candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Honourable Bala Hassan to emerge winner of the rerun election into Sokoto South/Sokoto North federal constituency.

He won the election with 68,985 votes, defeating his APC counterpart who garnered 42,433 votes.

The INEC returning officer made the declaration on Sunday morning in Sokoto while stating that the margin of lead between the two candidates stands at over 21,000 votes.

He added that about 5,000 votes recorded in the election were invalid.
