PDP, LP and ADC call on INEC chairman to step down

The opposition parties PDP, LP and ADC have called on INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu to step down immediately and allow someone else to conduct a fresh presidential election.

Expressing their grievances at the result presentation by the Independent National Commission at the National Collation Centre in Abuja.

"This election is not free, and far from being fair or transparent. We have lost faith in the entire process."

The aggrieved parties accuse the INEC chairman, Yakubu of failing to fulfil his promises made that the election results will be uploaded onto the Bimodal Verified Accreditation System BVAS.

Several irregularities has been reported to have occurred during the voting process in various states. This they believe has marred the election.

The meeting had the presence of Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the PDP, Labour Party national chairman, Julius Abure, Dino Melaye, African Democratic Congress (ADC) national chairman Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu among others.
