A video showing voters receiving money from some persons at an unidentified polling unit has emerged on social media.

In the video, the man gave the potential voters what looked like one thousand naira notes as they queued to cast their votes.

Security officials guarded the unidentified as they engaged in voter buying.

The video that has since gone viral was spotted on the Instagram handle of the popular blog @cutie_jullss.

According to the post, the persons engaged in the vote-buying is the serving PDP Commissioner in Bauchi.

"In the open and full glare of cameras, citizens and security officials watching a serving PDP Commissioner in Bauchi in vote buying fracas. In the first place how did he get the new notes that much? I bet you, this vote-buying thing will be so hard to fight. See how pple are struggling to be online to collect cash," the video was captioned.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) prior to the commencement of the election said it was collaborating with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Matters Commission and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to check vote-buying during the general elections.

INEC described vote-buying as a cankerworm that had eaten deep into the fabric of the nation, noting that it is also sensitising youths in various communities across the country to monitor and report anyone involved in the act during the elections.
