Oyetola reappoints Alakija as UNIOSUN chancellor 

Billionaire businesswoman, Dr. Folorunso Alakija has been reappointed Vice-Chancellor of the Osun State University for the next five years by State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola.

A statement yesterday by the university’s spokesman, Adesoji Ademola, said her reappointment was based on her track record as a lover of education, a philanthropist of note and a resourceful education manager as demonstrated during her first tenure, The Nations reports.

He said: “The reappointment letter was signed by Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, stating that he is delighted to reappoint Alakija as the chancellor for a second term of five years, beginning from March 9.”

Mr. Ademola noted that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Labode Popoola, while commenting on the re-appointment of the chancellor, said the reappointment is not just a blessing to the university, but also a blessing to the state and the education sector.
