Oyetola begs as irate youths protest yahoo boy's death' in Osogbo

There is ongoing unrest in Osun state over the death of a young man killed by the security operatives

The suspected "Yahoo boy" died when security operatives chased a car in which he and three others were riding

Governor Gboyega Oyetola has, however, sued for peace, saying the investigation is ongoing on the tragic incident

Gboyega Oyetola, governor of Osun state, has called for calm following the eruption of violence that trailed the killing of a young man by suspected members of the Joint Task Force (TTF).

The governor, in a series of tweets on his official Twitter page, said he sympathised with the family members and loved one left behind by the deceased.

Oyetola further added that all hands are on deck as the investigation has promptly commenced on the incident that has plunged the state into pandemonium.

"The death of the young man that was reportedly chased to death by some security operatives in Osogbo today, is very unfortunate & devastating. I sympathise with the family & loved ones of the deceased.

"I urge our people, especially the youths to remain calm & not take laws into their own hands.

"I assure that a proper & transparent investigation will be conducted to unravel the circumstances surrounding the sad incident & ensure that those responsible for the death of the promising young man are brought to book," Oyetola said.

In what made the EndSARS trend online again, Osogbo, Osun state capital, was thrown into an uproar on Tuesday, September 15, as youth protested the death of a young man suspected to be Yahoo boy.

It is said that the suspect died when security operatives chased a car in which he and three others were riding until the vehicle veered off the road and hit an electric pole.

The protesters have since dumped the body in front of the state government house in Oke-Fia, Osogbo.
