A sustained crackdown by the Nigerian Armed Forces has forced more than 150 terrorists—including high-ranking commanders, combatants, and their affiliates—to surrender in the North-East within just one week.

According to a report by guardian.ng, the surge marks a dramatic escalation from the previous week, when around 50 terrorists laid down their arms, reflecting the mounting pressure exerted on extremist strongholds across the region.

Disclosing the development in an official statement on Monday, Acting Military Information Officer, Captain Mohammed Goni, attributed the mass surrenders to intelligence-led offensives paired with aggressive kinetic and non-kinetic operations under *Operation Hadin Kai*.

Captain Goni explained that relentless military pressure has restricted the terrorists' freedom of movement, severed vital supply lines, and undermined their ability to retain fighters. Several surrendering combatants also turned over weapons and ammunition, further stripping the networks of their operational capacity.

Highlighting the success of combining battlefield pressure with civil engagement and strategic messaging, Goni noted that the military's approach is actively dismantling hostile narratives and encouraging voluntary disengagement.

"The significant increase reflects the cumulative impact of sustained intelligence-led operations, intensified military pressure and coordinated kinetic and non-kinetic efforts aimed at degrading terrorist capabilities and encouraging voluntary disengagement from terrorism," Goni stated.

He reassured the public that all surrendering individuals have been profiled, documented, and processed in full compliance with established laws and human rights procedures.

Commending the frontline troops for their discipline and resilience, the Military High Command urged forces to maintain operational momentum, deny remaining insurgents any freedom of action, and accelerate the restoration of lasting peace and normalcy to the North-East.
