Singer Davido has lamented that soldiers are trying to prevent him from entering Osun State to partake in the governorship election holding today, August 15, 2026.

The election sees his uncle and incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke contesting for re-election.

Adeleke's major opponent is Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress.

Taking to social.mesia, Davido wrote, “I’ve been reliably informed that soldiers are trying to prevent me from entering Osun tomorrow, this won’t happen, every citizen of Nigeria has the right to movement at any point of time.”

MyNigeria gathered that the police had announced a restriction of movement from 12pm on Friday till 6pm on Saturday to enable smooth proceedings for the election.

This may be the reason why Davido was prevented from entering the state.

The singer had earlier called on U.S President Donald Trump to monitor the Osun election following a wave of violence that killed no less than five people.
