All Progressives Congress (APC) All Progressives Congress (APC)

As Osun State awaits the judgment of the Supreme Court into the 2022 gubernatorial election, the All Progressives Congress, APC in Osun State has called on Timi Frank to desist from taking an undue advantage of the judiciary by blackmailing the party.

The Osun APC also described the allegations against the Justices of the Supreme Court over the Osun State guber election as false and one borne out of desperation on the part of Frank and his sponsors.

There is still a pending Supreme Court case with regards to the 2022 Osun gubernatorial election.

Timi Frank, a former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC on Wednesday in a statement called on the Supreme Court Justices to maintain their integrity and resist any attempt of subversiveness through inducement as regards the Osun governorship matter.

While revealing that some desperate politicians have began move to upturn Governor Ademola Adeleke's victory at Appeal Court at all cost, he raised alarm that intelligence available suggested that democracy enemies were planning to truncate through state apparatus and subversion of legitimacy.

"Some desperate politicians in the ruling APC have arisen once again to compromise the integrity of the judiciary by vowing to upturn the decision of the Court of Appeal by any means necessary in relation to the Osun state Supreme Court decision.

"Monetary inducement, coercion and intimidation using state security agencies to influence the judgment of the Supreme Court are rife and underway."

The Osun APC in a statement by its acting Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal on Thursday disclosed that the monetary inducement allegation against the Justices was only designed by Frank and his sponsors to blackmail the judiciary after Frank's sponsors failed in their bid to blackmail Oyetola from going to the Supreme Court.

According to Lawal, "Frank and his sponsors are deliberately blackmailing the revered highest judicial officers of the Supreme Court since the rules of their practice outlaws them from joining any issue with any rabble-rouser who might have woken up from the wrong side of his bed to be spewing mere conjectures.

"It was wrong for the political rebel in the person of Frank to have deliberately opted for the dragging of the judiciary in the mud because of his own political interest, saying that Frank should stop judging the Osun APC leaders by the standard of his sponsors.

"Frank is a meddlesome interloper and in a saner clime, he should be the guest of the security agencies by now so that he could tell the world what he knows about his reckless, cooked-up and fabricated allegation of monetary inducement against the Justices of the Supreme Court in order to create avoidable tension in the society."

Meanwhile, the Osun PDP has entered into the ring and cautioned that the judiciary cannot be compromised.

In a statement by the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Akindele Adekunle on Thursday, the party also condemned the alleged report of a Commissioner under the administration of former governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

Akindele described the report as dangerous and an attempt to stampede the judiciary added that the former Commissioner had boasted that the Supreme Court and her justices have been pocketed.

"Whether the report is false or real, we condemn any attempt to bring the names of the judiciary into disrepute. We have strong faith in the judiciary and we are convinced that the judiciary will ensure equity, justice and sustenance of the will of the people.

"Nobody can compromise the Supreme Court on the Osun matter. The whole world is watching and we are assured that no true democrat will attempt to create anarchy by upturning the overwhelming will of the people as manifested in three consecutive elections”, the party Chairman opined.
