Osinbajo honors fallen heroes on 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has shared a word of appreciation to Nigeria's fallen heroes as he partook in the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The event which took place at the Remembrance Arcade in Abuja saw the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) in attendance.

Also present at the event are members of the legislative arm of government and military officers.

Sharing pictures from the colorful event, Osinbajo wrote on Instagram:

"There are actually no words big enough; There are no hugs warm enough; To adequately recompense for the ceaseless sacrifices of our heroes, both fallen and living. You're always in our thoughts. You're always in our prayer. For all you've done, and always do, THANK YOU".

January 15 is set aside to honor Nigerian military men who have fought and those still fighting in various parts of the world.

The day also celebrates the end of the Biafra civil war which was fought from 1967 to 1970.
