As the results of the All Progressives Congress primaries is yet to be declared, supporters of presidential aspirant, Yemi Osinbajo has thrown in the towel.
Yemi Osinbajo contested the presidential election alongside national leader of the APC, Bola Tinubu and others but stood tall has he refused to step down or concede despite his low vote turnout.
However, some aspirants announced their decision to step down for Bola Tinubu. As the votes were counted, there were loud cheers for Tinubu as his name were constantly mentioned.
Taking to social media to congratulate the vice president for his bravery and strength towards the party primary, supporters of Osinbajo via their Twitter page believed he fought a good fight.
Some supporters also called on him to join Peter Obi at the Labour Party.
Here are some tweets;
Looks like Osinbajo may not even come second. What a disgrace. When people who have their own structures were standing down for Tinubu, the prodigal son was still full of bluster. Now, the social media delusion that brought him to this destination has collapsed!#APCPrimaries

Professor Yemi Osinbajo put up a good fight and wasn’t intimidated, we fought hard but Tinubu bought delegates with billions, I can’t vote or support a sick President. Peter Obi it is now.

You gave it your best but unfortunately it seems we don't appreciate value, honour, quality, dignity and integrity I'm this country.
I'll always be a fan.

Nibo latun jasi bayi. ????????????
I implore my fellow supporters of Professor Yemi Osinbajo to join the Peter Obi ship.
— OTUNBA ???????? (@ManLikeIcey) June 8, 2022
ATIKU and TINUBU are old men who have nothing to offer Nigeria but to enrich their pockets.
Let it be known that i am Team Osinbajo @ProfOsinbajo but if he doesn’t win, rather than vote Tinubu, I’ll rather vote Peter Obi @PeterObi.

I am happy Prof Yemi Osinbajo took the shot at the presidency when he had the chance. He is a man of grand ideas and has a long future ahead of him. That future may only have been filled with regret at not trying and wondering what could have been, if he did not take his chance.

My people my people as Osinbajo has lost the ticket. Come into Labour Party we are accommodating!!! Labour Party! #Labour Party . Peter Obi is our new president!!!!
— Jeff Rey (@jef_rayy) June 8, 2022
Well, the winner has been decided by the delegates. Osinbajo remains my preferred candidate because I believed & still believe in his cause but the party prefers someone else. He gave a good fight. So, congratulations to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his team for a job well done. pic.twitter.com/ufRnNL45Wt

Peter Obi, unlike Osinbajo, actually won elections and built a political structure, so he is a "more experienced politician".
— Onye Nkuzi (@cchukudebelu) June 8, 2022
Osinbajo's problem, is that he couldn't compete against his political godfather (who has all the political structures), and win.
I'M PROUD OF PROF. YEMI OSINBAJO FOR NOT STEPPING DOWN BUT GOING AHEAD IRRESPECTIVE OF WHAT THE OUTCOME WOULD BE, UNLIKE FAYEMI, AMOSUN & CO

It is clear @officialABAT is going to be the Candidate of Nigeria's ruling @OfficialAPCNg. My preference was @ProfOsinbajo but Tinubu won this beyond any doubt. Am I dissapointed? Yes!

This is not a message of solidarity as I rate you above all candidates for the #APCPresidentialPrimaries. This tweet is to thank you for running the race to the FINISH LINE regardless of the banters and attacks from some political GLUTTONS.
Merci! #PYO pic.twitter.com/pHeQd5QIjf
