Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen will miss the CAF Awards scheduled for Morocco on Wednesday, November 19 (today) due to an injury he picked up against DR Congo on Sunday, November 16.
The former African footballer of the year is scheduled for an MRI scan at Galatasaray as he prepares for the AFCON 2025.
He will undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury.
Osimhen was withdrawn at halftime during Nigeria’s loss to DR Congo in the final of the 2026 World Cup African play-offs on Sunday.
In the semi-final against Gabon, the 27-year-old scored an extra-time brace to take his national team tally for Nigeria to 31 goals.
The Nigerian striker is returning to the podium after winning two years ago. He was succeeded by his compatriot, Ademola Lookman.
