Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has stated that his focus has now shifted to Nigeria’s World Cup playoffs following Galatasaray’s defeat to Kocaelispor in the Turkish Super Lig.
The in-form striker was kept at bay as his side were stunned by a lone goal away from home on Sunday, November 9.
English international of Ghanaian descent Daniel Agyei scored the only goal as Okan Buruk’s side were condemned to their first league defeat of the season.
Speaking in a post-match reaction, Osimhen stated that the loss is now behind him as he turns his attention to Nigeria’s crucial World Cup assignment.
“I have to travel. The game has happened; it has happened,” Osimhen said.
“I have moved on from that. Now I focus on my national team.”
Nigeria will lock horns with Gabon in the semifinal of the World Cup playoffs on Thursday, November 13.
A win would guarantee Eric Chelle’s side a place in the final CAF playoff against either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday, November 16.
