Victor Osimhen has rejected fresh approaches to reconsider Al-Hilal’s €75m offer, insisting he will only hold talks with Galatasaray regarding his future despite the Saudi Arabian club matching Napoli’s asking price.
The Nigeria international has consistently rebuffed attempts by his current club to persuade him to consider the lucrative Saudi Pro League proposal, with his preference firmly set on remaining with the Turkish giants, where he spent last season on loan.
Napoli have received two bids meeting their €75m valuation for the wantaway striker, with both Al-Hilal and Galatasaray tabling offers that match president Aurelio De Laurentiis’s asking price.
According to reports, Galatasaray’s latest bid comprises €40m upfront with €35m spread across two further instalments, whilst Al-Hilal have proposed splitting their fee into two payments.
However, Osimhen’s stance remains unchanged despite repeated efforts by the Partenopei to change his mind about the Saudi option.
Alfredo Pedullà had confirmed for Football Italia that Napoli tried once more to get Osimhen to reconsider the proposal from the Saudi Pro League, without receiving a positive response.
That was reiterated by Turkish transfer pundit Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, who maintains the push was made this morning as well.
Every time, the Nigeria international has simply batted it away, refusing to even consider a transfer to the Saudi Arabian side.
The 26-year-old striker enjoyed a prolific campaign with Galatasaray last season, netting 37 goals and providing eight assists in just 41 games across all competitions during his loan spell.
Complicating matters further, Napoli are reportedly insisting on the inclusion of a special clause that would prevent Osimhen from returning to Serie A in the near future.
According to La Repubblica, De Laurentiis is demanding the so-called ‘anti-Italy’ clause be written into any final contract, which would ban Osimhen from joining any Italian club for the next three seasons.
The safeguard would ensure Napoli do not face their former striker at a domestic rival before the 2028/29 campaign.
The ongoing transfer saga continues to be hampered by disagreements over payment structures and instalments, as well as Napoli’s demands for bank guarantees to back up the proposed deals.
Whilst Galatasaray work on getting the required figures and paperwork in order, Napoli continue to hope that the more lucrative and reliable offer from Al-Hilal can be reconsidered.
