Victor Osimhen will miss Nigeria’s opening 2027 AFCON qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau as his recovery from a muscle strain has taken longer than expected.

The Galatasaray striker was initially included in Eric Chelle’s 24-man squad, with hopes that he would recover in time for the international window. However, Osimhen was unavailable for Galatasaray’s clash with Trabzonspor.

Galatasaray has informed the Super Eagles that Osimhen is still recovering and will not be available for Nigeria’s upcoming fixtures.
